I'm not too good with remembering to bring food/lunch to work. I was in 7th food Haven when I worked in a place with a kosher cafeteria. When I switched assignments, I first managed with 2 pieces of whole wheat bread and/or cereal and until I discovered a (relatively) local pizza shop. Soon after that I started eating there almost exclusively.
Recently, I realized that my constant pizza trips became visible. But at the same time Sheryl Crow's song 'if it makes you happy, it can't be that bad' came to mind. I felt somewhat comforted -weight gain isn't the end of the world...
Then I remembered that Sheryl Crow also advocated to use one square of toilet paper per bathroom trip in her effort to be earth friendly. That idea is so darn bad it couldn't make anyone ( including Sheryl) happy. EEeeW!
So I switched to burgers and burritos.

LOL
Cheryl can ration her own napkin and toilet paper consumption! Go, food!
Save money and the Earth and be clean at the same time...yes! Get serious and add Bathroom Bidet Sprayers to all your bathrooms. Available at www.bathroomsprayers.com with these you won't even need toilet paper any more, just a towel to dry off! It's cheap and can be installed without a plumber; and runs off the same water line to your toilet. You'll probably pay for it in a few months of toilet paper savings. And after using one of these you won't know how you lasted all those years with wadded up handfuls of toilet paper. Now we're talking green and helping the environment without any pain.
excercise can allow you to keep eating and feel happy.
Mike- agreed. When I used to be more active, I ate 2x as much as I do now and it didn't settle.
And I'm still quite happy though definitely a bigger self.
Hey, weight gain and winter are synonymous. Enjoy!
And the reason you didn't want to take a pie home is?
Moshe, the reason was very easy: my toaster is out, and my microwave is reserved for dairy, so it was very easy to re-heat. For Sally... Let's just say she would probably have to come to me to re-heat:)
I double wrapped it in foil and put it in the oven.
LPC- true that winter=weight gain however, this winter weight gain exceeded the baseline:)
Moshe- Read the beginning of this post: I don't remember to bring food to work. Sad and simple.
PS I have a dairy toaster oven which I use for reheating/cooking dairy stuff.
Baseline? There's a baseline? Aw, SHOOT. ;) Maybe you can tell me after I finish my brownie...
LPC- typical winter weight gain baseline was 2-3 lbs. But I guess it's all history now:)
